For By Strength of Hand The Lord Brought You Out From This Place
And Moses said unto the people. Remember this day, in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; For by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from this place. There shall no leavened bread be eaten. Exodus 13:3
What has God brought you out from recently and in the past? We must put ourselves in remembrance of every incident God has delivered us or brought us out from. That way we will remain both grateful and hopeful. Grateful for what He has done, and hopeful that He will do it again.
☐ Has God ever removed you from bad situations, addictions, bad choices, or tight places you thought you could never get out from? If yes, praise the Lord today and never become entangled again with that bondage!
If you are in such a situation, give it to God, believe in your God and expect your deliverance!
Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God. Daniel 6:21-23
☐ Has God given you wisdom on how to proceed when you could not see any way out? Thank God that He has shown you a better way. In future, pray first about everything.
If you need wisdom in anything today, pray and ask God for it. He promised He would never withhold wisdom from those who ask in faith.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
☐ Has God opened doors you thought were forever closed to you? Do not attempt to turn back from where He has placed you to go back to the former things because things are difficult right now. Keep moving forward, and keep pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God In Christ Jesus for you!
Do you need an open door to step higher in your calling, career or ministry? Look to Jesus, the One who can open doors for you that no one can shut!
I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My Word, and have not denied My name.
Revelation 3:8
☐ Has God turned what was meant for bad to good for you? Rejoice and be glad! Not everyone has faith that God can make all things beautiful in His time.
If you are enduring hardship or attacks right now, don't give up on God! Thank God in faith that He knows how to work all things together for your good!
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28
☐ Has God kept you from any evil? Thank Him for giving you authority in the name of Jesus before which every knee must bow!
If the enemy has come against you like a flood, call on the name of Jesus and resist the devil steadfast in the faith! He will flee in the name of Jesus!
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
☐ Has God healed you in body, mind or spirit? Rejoice and never stop giving thanks for His goodness and kindness toward you!
If you need healing today in any area, stand on the sure promises of God that Jesus is your Healer because He bore all your disease, sickness and pain on the Cross so that you don't have to bear it on your own. Therefore you can take your healing by faith!
Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
I Peter 2:24
☐ Has the Holy Spirit ever enveloped you in a bubble of His love and comfort in your times of confusion and sorrow? If He has, thank Him for caring so much about you.
If you need comfort today, find rest for your soul in the hands of The Comforter. You are safe there.
The Eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the Everlasting Arms. Deuteronomy 33:27
So why does God end His command to remember the day He brought us out from a bad place with the words:
There shall no leavened bread be eaten? (Exodus 13:3)
Well, matzoh, or unleavened bread forms part of the annual Pesach celebrations in remembrance of God's love and care for the freedom of His people. Leaven is yeast and yeast symbolizes pride.
God does not want us to boast about how we saved ourselves by our own strength when it was by His mighty hand we have been saved and delivered from bad situations, addictions, wrong choices and tight places.
If He was the One who showed us the way where there seemed to be no way; if God opened doors for us nobody could shut; if He is the One who worked all things for our good; if God has kept us from evil, if He has healed us and comforted us, then it is only fitting that we give Him all the glory, and not try to take any glory for ourselves!
For by strength of hand the Lord has brought you out of all those deep, dark places, lifted you up out of the miry clay, set your feet on the solid Rock, Who walks close beside you every day!
Let us remember to never forget how good God has been to us.
