Vignettes Who Do You Say I Am? He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Matthew 16:15  Who Was Jesus To His Disciples? Who do you say I Am? When Jesus asked His disciples this question, the Spirit-led answer Peter gave was,  Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.  (Matthew 16:16 KJV). The disciples had enjoyed a closer walk with Jesus for three years and had come to know Him intimately and intuitively .   Intimately  because when Holy Spirit came to live in them to lead them through life and ministry at Pentecost/Shavuot, they were able to recognize Him and easily discern that the Spirit which lived in them was the Spirit of the Lord Himself, allos , the same as the Lord, of whom they had detailed knowledge, and whom they had come to know from spending time with Him every day in a close and personal way. The disciples also knew Jesus intuitively because they knew by the witness of the Spirit in them that Jesus was the promised Messiah of God, the...

Vignettes   By Their Fruits, and Not By Their Credentials, Shall You Know Them You will know them by their fruits . Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? ~ Jesus. Matthew 7:16 Christians, like the rest of world, are immensely and blindly impressed by credentials, titles and degrees. What I call paper .  Paper , well, what is written on it, blinds the eyes to the true state of the person who holds the title, degree, qualification, etc., thus allowing them to literally get away with murder, rudeness and corruption!  The Pharisees, Sadducees, scribes and high priest, the ones with the education, qualifications, titles, and status in the community, were the very ones Jesus said took the most advantage of the people, who sought the applause and honour of people, but made their followers twice the sinners, or ten times worse, than themselves! Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is w...

Vignettes You Have Not Passed This Way Before Joshua 3:1-4 Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over. So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp; and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before. ” As we know, nothing in the Bible is random. Holy Spirit is the Author of the Bible who inspired the writers and compilers of it to showcase what He wanted His people to know. This passage of Scripture is no exception. God called, chose and anointed Joshua to be Moses successor as the leader ...
