Waiting On The Lord Is Faith In Action
But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
Waiting on the Lord is nothing like 'waiting for better days,' or like waiting to win the Lotto. Those who are 'waiting for better days' are usually not doing very much to reach that goal.
Passively waiting on God or hoping for some 'good luck' to come your way is not faith and is not what God will reward or bless. God does not move on our behalf, neither does He bless us, when we are passive or living by the luck of the draw. God is moved to work on our behalf, to bring to pass what we are hoping for, when we move in and live by faith.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Note carefully what Holy Spirit says through Isaiah the prophet. God says those who wait on Him shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Have you noticed that this person waiting on the Lord is constantly moving, consciously looking for ways to mount up or rise higher in life? Isaiah does not say that the lazy, lying on the couch, moaning, griping and complaining, passively waiting for God to drop everything on their wish-list into their laps, shall be refreshed, reinvigorated and rewarded on their journey!
Isaiah is actually teaching us how to successfully wait on God. He is basically saying that those who wait on God have faith in God.
1. That it takes faith in God to rise up from the ash-heaps of setbacks, disappointments, betrayal or heartbreak.
2. It takes faith in God to believe you can rise higher and achieve more in life when everything around you seems hopeless.
3. It requires faith in God to run when you feel weary and drained from your Journey and just want to give up.
4. Faith will keep you walking when you feel like fainting and quitting along the way.
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18
Our Covenant with God the Father, established on better promises (See Hebrews 8:6), has been signed in Jesus's Blood! Jesus gave His life for us so we could be reconciled to the Father who is waiting to give us the abundant life Christ died to give us! (Read Jesus's own words on this truth in John 10:10).
God is the One who gives us the power and strength to get the wealth He has for us, Strength includes wisdom in every area of life, ministry and in business.
God is the richest entity I know! He literally owns and rules the whole world! Surely it would be wise for us as humans to learn from, draw strength and wisdom from, depend on, emulate and wait on, in faith, the One who owns and knows it all?!
What do you need today?
What have you been waiting for?
What are you waiting for?
Waiting On God Is Faith In Action
Faith is active not passive, a doing word that God guarantees will give us the substance of the things we hope for! (Hebrews 11:1!)
Wait on God His way.
God is always busy about our business. Let us Imitate the Father and be about His business, believing that we will receive all the good things He has in store for us.
Wait on God with a high expectation of good. Believe you will receive according to Jesus's Word (Mark 11:22-26). Listen in your Spirit and do what Holy Spirit leads you to do.
Waiting on God should not be an exercise in hopelessness, despair or pointlessness.
Waiting On God Is Faith In Action.
Waiting on God should be the most exciting seasons of your life because you know that with God and by faith, you will soon have what you say!
