There Is No Such Thing As A Spiritual Couch Potato!

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  III John 1:2 NKJV

🏃‍♂️Do you agree that the Bible was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit? If you answered, 'Yes,' then you will agree that every word in your Bible is a personal Word from God to you. So when you read passages of Scripture such as, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers, you know that God was not merely speaking to a certain group of people, but that it is a message He wants to get to all those who love Him, including you!

So what is God trying to say to you and me through this verse? Well, basically, that There are no spiritual couch potatoes in the Kingdom of God!

Jesus said to His disciples, Go!...

And He said to them, “GO into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature."  Mark 16:15

To  Go is an action word, a doing word. The apostles, and those who subsequently became their disciples, did not sit around eating snacks all day hoping God would speak to them, do the work for them, bring the people to them, or make things happen for them! No, the apostles taught others, and so us, what they saw Jesus do-

~> They went because they were sent,

~> They believed because that is what Believers do, 

~> They prayed and read their scrolls (Bibles), standing on the promises of God, believing He would do what He said He would do!

There is no such thing as a spiritual couch potato! God's desire is for all His children to prosper in all they do. He blesses His people with all they need to prosper but each of us must do our part! You will not prosper hoping and wishing for better days! You will not be in and have good health if you sit on the couch eating snacks and making excuses why you just can't do it!

God tells us in His Word-- You can do all things because I, Christ, will strengthen you and I will prosper you if you get up and go! (See Philippians 4:13,19; Mark 16:15). Spiritual Couch Potatoes tell everyone how hard they are praying, and how much they love God but nothing is happening! God hasn't heard their prayers, but they rarely read their Bibles or mix the Word with faith. Couch potatoes, when the storms of life hit, invariably fall apart and find it difficult to stand even when the mildest of adverse breezes are blowing! 

If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.  Proverbs 24:10

You need the strength that comes from God and from taking good care of yourself if you want to Run and Finish Your Race Well!

God wants you to run and finish your race well. It pleases Him seeing you prosper in every area of your life, spiritually, physically and financially, thus bringing glory to His name.

Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favour my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” 

Psalms 35:27

But it is up to you to Go, to move toward obtaining all the good things He has in store for you!

You have to make the time, no longer clinging to your excuses, to spend time with God in the Word, to keep yourself physically active, strong and healthy by exercising and opting for a healthier eating plan, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle, not overspending or overindulging. God is trying to get His Best to you! (See Jeremiah 29:11) Work and walk with Him and His Best will manifest in your life!
