Sounds In The Night
Psalm 139:11-12 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall
on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not
hide from You; but the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are
both alike to You.
Ever heard sounds in the night? Or have you ever been
woken up by terrified-of-the-night children? Those sounds in the night are
scary especially as to what your imagination can come up with.
The Psalmist says that the darkness cannot hide from God; that, to God, the night shines as the day. Both darkness and light are the same
to God. In other words, what scares you, those sounds in the night, do not
terrify God at all. He can see what is causing those sounds, and if you trust In
Him and listen in your spirit, He will show you what to do.
That is why you can call on God and rely on Him even in the darkest, scariest night of them all. But sometimes the sounds in the night are not only external. Sounds of grief, physical pain, mental torment and loneliness can turn our nights into waking nightmares. Thing is, the darkest nights are full of light to the Holy Spirit. He is never afraid of the dark. He is never afraid of what terrifies or concerns you; and He is never at a loss as to what to do in the dark.
For that reason we can always put our trust in Him. When the
sounds of the night, whatever the source, rattle you, do not just cower under the
covers thinking the worst. Get up, rise up; investigate if you need to. Then ask Holy Spirit to give you wisdom, strength and insight to deal with the issue. Never
believe there are no solutions to your problems. I can assure, God has a solution
for everything. It may not always be what you want to hear, but it is always what you need to hear.
Do not let the sounds in the night stir you any longer. Pray.
Invite Holy Spirit to give you what you need to deal with the issue at hand. As
children of God we need not bow in fear or intimidation to anything or to anybody. Through Christ
Jesus, you can overcome anything.
Romans 8:35, 37 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
